Gunmen attack Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s family home in Kogi

Suspected hoodlums armed with cutlasses and firearms have attacked the family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in the Obeiba-Ihima area of Okehi Local Government Area, Kogi State.

The attack reportedly took place in the early hours of Tuesday, around 1:00 a.m., and involved at least three assailants who vandalized parts of the building, including smashing several windows.

The incident was made public on Thursday by security analyst Zagazola Makama via a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle.

Citing intelligence sources, Makama stated that the Senator’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, reported the attack to the appropriate security agencies.

“Following a distress alert, a team of security operatives from Okehi Division swiftly mobilized to the scene. While no casualties were reported and no arrests have been made, the premises were documented and preliminary investigations have commenced.

“Police sources said the motive behind the attack remains unknown as investigations continue,” Makama said.

As of the time of reporting, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a key political representative of Kogi Central Senatorial District, has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
