How RCCG pastor was arrested abroad for addressing congregation as ‘ladies and gentlemen’ – Adeboye

Date:

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has revealed how one of his church’s pastors abroad was arrested over the way he addressed a crowd.

Speaking during the church’s monthly thanksgiving service at the RCCG Throne of Grace in Lagos on Sunday, Adeboye shared that the pastor was detained for simply addressing a crowd as “ladies and gentlemen.”

This expression was considered discriminatory by some, as it allegedly failed to acknowledge individuals who do not identify as either gender.

“The end is closer than we think,” Adeboye warned, highlighting how troubling these developments are.

“Things are becoming worse, and this should serve as a wake-up call. One of my pastors was arrested just for saying ‘ladies and gentlemen.’ Some individuals accused him of discrimination, questioning, ‘What about those who aren’t ladies or gentlemen?’”

The pastor also recounted another disturbing incident involving a woman who referred to her dog as her “husband.”

When asked about her spouse, she claimed, “I took him to the vet before coming. He doesn’t talk,” referring to the dog as her husband.

Adeboye expressed deep concern over the decline in moral values worldwide, seeing these events as signs of the impending end times.

“Those of you already in Christ, take this matter seriously. Do not let anyone weaken your stand. God is holy. Those still playing church—singing, clapping, and enjoying things without genuine commitment—remember, Jesus is coming back. The devil wants to harvest you, but you must not give him the opportunity. I want to see you in my Father’s house,” he noted.
