“I uphold Nigerian laws in my business practices”, Achimugu responds to EFCC’s wanted notice

Date:

Aisha Achimugu, the managing director and CEO of Felak Concept Group, has publicly addressed the recent declaration by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which listed her as a wanted person in connection with allegations of money laundering.

The EFCC’s announcement on Friday called on anyone with information regarding Achimugu’s whereabouts to come forward, stating that she is wanted in relation to a case of “criminal conspiracy and money laundering.”

In a heartfelt statement shared on her official Instagram on Sunday, Achimugu acknowledged the flood of calls and messages she has received from concerned friends and family over the past few days.

She assured her followers that she continues to uphold her belief in the rule of law and due process, emphasizing that she has always acted in accordance with these principles.

The statement, which was signed by her media representative Bodex Hungbo, further reinforced Achimugu’s commitment to cooperating with the legal process as it unfolds.

“We express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out in concern and solidarity,” the statement reads.

“Your kindness has been a source of strength during this trying period, and it reinforces our faith in our shared humanity and the values that bind us together.

“As a responsible citizen and entrepreneur, Dr. Aisha remains a firm believer in the rule of law and due process and will never do otherwise.

“We trust that these principles and justice will prevail as this matter unfolds. Our business practices have always been grounded in transparency, integrity, and respect for our nation’s laws.

“To our valued business partners, families, professional associates, and well-wishers worldwide, please be assured that she is fully committed to all processes involved as a responsible and law abiding citizen who has contributed so much to the growth of our Nation as well as being a National Asset.”

In January 2024, Achimugu made the headlines when she set the Caribbean Island of Grenada alight with a seven-day 50th birthday party attended by some of the crème de la crème of the Nigerian entertainment industry and prominent figures — including a governor.
