Ibadan Stampede: Court fixes date for bail of ex-Queen Naomi, Oriyomi Hamzat

The Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has set January 13 as the hearing date for ex-Queen of Ife Naomi Silekunola, Oriyomi Hazmat, and Abdullahi Fasasi’s bail plea.

Justice K. B Olawoyin set the date at Tuesday’s hearing.

Naomi, Hazmat, the owner of the Ibadan-based radio station Agidigbo FM, and Fasasi, the Principal of the Islamic High School in Bashorun, Ibadan, were detained after a stampede in December.

Over 35 people died during the stampede for food in Ibadan in December.

Counsels to the accuseds’ had filed a summon of application for bail before the Court.

Justice Olawoyin after listening to the submission and arguments of the Counsels, adjourned the ruling on the bail application till Tuesday, 13th Tuesday, 2025.

The suspects are currently being remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Centre Agodi.
