Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the suspended senator representing Kogi Central, has expressed her excitement to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr with her constituents on Tuesday, despite the rising security concerns.
She took to Facebook to share her anticipation, emphasizing her commitment to a peaceful celebration.
“Dear people of Kogi Central, I eagerly look forward to celebrating our peaceful Sallah today,” Akpoti-Uduaghan wrote.
However, the senator also issued a stern warning, placing the blame for any potential violence squarely on the shoulders of several key political figures.

“If we experience any violence or unrest, Nigerians should hold Gov. Usman Ododo, former Gov. Yahaya Bello, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio fully responsible,” she stated.
Her comments came shortly after the Kogi State Police Command advised her to cancel the planned Eid celebration rally in the region, citing security concerns. Despite this, Akpoti-Uduaghan’s media team swiftly dismissed any speculation about canceling the event, confirming that the celebration would go ahead as planned.
This comes in the wake of the Kogi state government’s announcement of a ban on rallies and public gatherings due to “credible security reports” related to potential threats in the area.
Despite the official warnings, the suspended senator remains resolute in her intent to engage with her constituents, calling for peace and responsibility during the festivities.
