He highlighted that the prosperity and future of Nigeria depend on the strength and direction provided by its leadership.
“When we pray for our leaders, we are praying for ourselves and the nation. We owe this to ourselves and the nation,” Buhari said in his message to President Tinubu.
Reflecting on the long-standing relationship between the two leaders, Buhari acknowledged Tinubu’s invaluable contributions, not only to the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) but also to his own successful two-term presidency.
He highlighted Tinubu’s critical role in the APC’s rise to power, which has now culminated in a second APC administration under Tinubu’s leadership.
Buhari further praised the President’s multifaceted legacy, stating, “The annals of the country will not be complete without recognizing President Tinubu’s roles as an entrepreneur, a party stalwart, a party organizer, and a serial winner of democratic elections. I am truly proud of my association with Asiwaju.”
Looking back at the APC’s historic victory in 2015, Buhari underscored the party’s mandate to lay the groundwork for a new Nigeria, one where opportunities abound for the less privileged. He expressed satisfaction that the vision for a better Nigeria remains steadfast.
In addition to his birthday wishes, Buhari extended his warm regards to President Tinubu, his family, and the entire nation, wishing them a successful conclusion to the Ramadan fast and a joyful Sallah celebration.
