Jimoh Abdulquadri, a resident of Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state, has tragically passed away while in police custody.
His arrest occurred on Friday at his home, following allegations that he owed a friend N220,000.
However, it was not until Saturday that his family received the devastating news of his death.
A heart-wrenching video, which has since gone viral, shows the grief-stricken family members mourning their loss at Abdulquadri’s home. In the footage, his older sister, Aishat Biola, recounts how her brother was allegedly lured out of their house under false pretenses before being taken away by police officers, leaving the family in shock and disbelief.
“My younger brother is the one who was killed. We were all here making jokes when they came to pick him up,” she said.
“They sent people to deceive him away from here. Those who came to carry him away were on the road waiting.”
