The Lagos State Government has shut down DONALD Restaurant, a popular nightlife spot owned by renowned socialite Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, over violations of environmental regulations.
Situated in the Lekki area of the state, the restaurant was sealed following an incident in which two staff members were found unlawfully disposing of waste along the roadside.

The development was made public by the Managing Director and CEO of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Muyiwa Gbadegesin, through a statement on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
Gbadegesin revealed that on the morning of Saturday, May 18, 2025, the Chairman of the Lekki Estate Residents Association (LERA) notified LAWMA about improper waste disposal activities taking place on Durosimi-Etti Street in Lekki Phase 1.
According to Gbadegesin, “A white Ford van with Abuja registration plates GWA 136E was caught in the act of indiscriminately discharging waste.”Investigations linked the van to DONALD Restaurant, located on Road 14 within the residential estate.
Security officials from LERA apprehended the individuals at the scene and brought them to the association’s secretariat for further action.
It was further reported that the suspects attempted to offer ₦100,000 as a bribe to the security team, a move that was unequivocally turned down.
Following the alert, LAWMA’s Monitoring and Compliance Team arrived at the site, took over the case, and shut down the restaurant due to significant breaches of the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law of 2017.
Gbadegesin also confirmed that legal proceedings would be initiated against the culprits.
“LAWMA remains resolute in its commitment to enforcing environmental regulations across Lagos and urges all residents and businesses to adhere strictly to proper waste management practices. A clean and livable city is everyone’s responsibility,” Gbadegesin stressed.
