Longest kiss record holders reveal they are no longer together

Date:

The couple who holds the Guinness World Record for the longest kiss, Ekkachai Tiranarat and Laksana, has revealed that they have gone their separate ways.

In 2013, Ekkachai and Laksana set the record by kissing for 58 hours and 35 minutes.

Ekkachai shared his experience on the BBC Sounds podcast ‘Witness History’, stating that he’s “very proud” of the record, despite the challenges they faced during the competition.

The rules required them to maintain lip contact at all times, stay awake, and stand without support. They were even required to kiss while using the toilet.

Ekkachai recalled feeling stunned by the rules and exhausted during the attempt. Although the experience was difficult, he looks back on it fondly, remembering the good times and the achievement they shared.

‘I am very proud. It was a once in a lifetime experience,’ he told podcast host, Megan Jones.

“We spent a long time together and I’m trying to remember the good memories and that we did this together.”

Two-time winners of the competition, Ekkachai and Laksana first set the world record for the longest kiss in 2011, when they lasted for 46 hours and 24 minutes.

In 2013, the couple managed to sustain their kiss for 58 hours and 35 minutes.
