The early hours of Saturday’s Local Government Elections in Lagos presented a mixed picture, with some polling stations starting on time and others facing notable delays.
In Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA’s Ward B, electoral materials arrived at some units by 8:00 a.m., and the voting process began without incident.

Voters could be seen casting their ballots in an orderly and peaceful environment.
Polling Unit 043, also located in Ward B, received its materials around 8:30 a.m.

However, as of 9:12 a.m., voting had not yet commenced due to ongoing setup procedures by electoral officers.
The situation was less promising in parts of Yaba Local Council Development Area, particularly in Ward C, where delays were more pronounced. At Polling Unit 046, there were no LASIEC officials or materials on site as of 8:58 a.m.

A similar scenario unfolded at Polling Unit 027, where party representatives waited in vain for electoral staff to arrive.
In contrast, at Polling Unit 023, LASIEC officials were seen arriving and beginning to set up the venue for voting as of the time of this report.

Security agents were stationed nearby to provide support and maintain peace. These uneven reports from polling units across the state reflect ongoing logistical and administrative hurdles faced by LASIEC.
Despite this, voters turned out in various areas, determined to elect new leaders for the 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs in Lagos.
