According to a statement issued by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, operatives discreetly monitored the premises throughout the day and moved in immediately after the Sunday worship service concluded.
Babafemi explained that the suspect had escaped to Ghana in June after being connected to two separate seizures of cannabis — 200 kilograms discovered at Okun Ajah Beach on June 4, and 700 kilograms recovered from a delivery van on July 6.
