The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has announced today that 104 Nigerian citizens were repatriated from Algeria yesterday, June 30, 2025, arriving at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) cargo terminal in Lagos.
The returnees were brought back to Nigeria through the Assisted Voluntary Returns initiative, a collaborative effort between the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Federal Government.
The repatriated citizens includes, 80 adult males, 14 adult females, 2 male children, 5 female children, 3 infants
This was contained in a statement via NEMA’s X handle on Tuesday, July 1.

The statement reads: “In continuation of the Assisted Voluntary Returns initiative facilitated by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with the Federal Government, the Lagos Operations Office received 104 Nigerian returnees from Algeria on June 30, 2025, at approximately 1350 hours. The returnees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport cargo terminal on an Air Algerie flight with flight no: 70-BKT.
“The breakdown of the returnees is as follows: 80 adult males, 14 adult females, 2 male children, 5 female children, 3 infants
“Upon arrival, the returnees underwent biometric registration and documentation by the Nigerian Immigration Service and were provided with essential support, including: Food and water, Medical assistance, Ambulance services, Luggage handling, Logistics support
“This comprehensive support ensured a dignified and safe return for the citizens.”
