Nigeria would’ve been like US if it had another President like Tinubu – Okpebholo

Date:

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that Nigeria would have achieved a level of development similar to the United States if it had produced two presidents with his leadership qualities.

Speaking at a campaign event in Esan Central for the upcoming Edo Central by-election, Okpebholo lauded Tinubu’s leadership style and economic reforms as transformative.

He pointed to the recently signed tax reform bills as a key example of how the president is working to stabilize the nation’s economy. The governor described the reforms as a crucial step towards progress.

Okpebholo said: “I, your son, have promised Mr. President 2.5 million votes. 2.5 million votes, I promised that by the grace of God, come 2027, we’re going to deliver that vote to Mr. President.

“The president we have today, if Nigeria had had two of such presidents, Nigeria would’ve been like America.”

The governor, who served as the Senator representing Edo Central before his inauguration as Edo governor in November last year, resigned from the National Assembly upon assuming office.

He has since been actively mobilising support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the upcoming elections.
