A building under construction has collapsed in the Sabon Lugbe area of Abuja, trapping at least 40 individuals beneath the rubble.
The incident occurred early Saturday morning, prompting immediate rescue efforts from emergency workers and sympathizers on-site.
As of press time, teams are actively working to free those caught under the debris, but additional support is urgently needed.
Witnesses have called for government agencies and emergency responders to enhance their efforts in the ongoing rescue operation.
“No fewer than 40 persons are currently trapped in this building collapse. We are pleading with the government and relevant agencies to help rescue those who are still here,” an eyewitness reported.
This tragic event follows a recent building collapse in Abuja’s Kubwa area, where four people were rescued, although an unconfirmed number remained trapped initially. The Kubwa incident occurred near Cupid Hotel on Sultan Dasuki Way.
