Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have pledged to stand firm against what they describe as acts of intimidation and exclusion by the Federal Government, vowing to protect democratic principles and uphold good governance.
The governors made this declaration during the party’s 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Tuesday in Abuja.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, accused the administration of President Bola Tinubu of orchestrating political pressures and employing divisive tactics aimed at weakening the opposition.

According to Mohammed, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government has created an environment riddled with political instability, subtle harassment, and defection inducements.
“The PDP and its members have faced various forms of pressure, from veiled threats to overt attempts at coercion. But we remain unwavering. We will not surrender our mandate to serve the people and defend democracy,” he stated.
He also noted that while the PDP has experienced defections and political realignments, the party has not lost its cohesion, unlike other parties grappling with internal divisions.
“Unlike other parties torn apart by internal crises, the PDP remains united. Our strength lies in our unity and our shared commitment to the people,” he said.
Governor Mohammed further highlighted the party’s proactive engagements across states, including strategic meetings and communiqués issued in Plateau, Taraba, Oyo, Delta, Akwa Ibom, and Bauchi States, as signs of resilience and active participation in governance.
“These meetings demonstrate our resolve to stay visible and engaged in national discourse. We will not be silenced or sidelined,” he added.
Commending party leaders for their dedication, he described the 99th NEC meeting as a symbol of the PDP’s democratic endurance in the face of growing national challenges.
