Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), the newly appointed Sole Administrator for Rivers State, has officially arrived in the state to begin his duties.
Ibas landed at the Port Harcourt International Airport around 11:25 AM on Thursday, where he was warmly received by senior state officials and a heavy security presence.
Accompanied by Rivers State Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju and the Assistant Inspector General of Police for Zone 16, the Sole Administrator proceeded directly to Government House, Port Harcourt.

Upon his arrival at the Government House, Ibas was given a tour of the premises by government officials.
He is currently engaged in a closed-door meeting with senior security personnel, federal government representatives, and state government officials to discuss the way forward.
Ibas was sworn in by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday following the declaration of a state of emergency in the state due to ongoing political instability.
