Taraba governor’s sister dies from gunshot wound

Date:

Atsi Agbu, sister of Taraba State Governor Kefas Agbu, has died following a gunshot injury sustained during an attack on her convoy.

Timothy Kataps, Secretary to the State Government, confirmed her death in a text message to TheCable on Tuesday, saying, “Unfortunately, it is true, may her soul rest in peace.”

The incident occurred when gunmen ambushed the convoy in Wukari on December 5.

A police officer reportedly shot Atsi while attempting to repel the attackers. She was travelling with Jummai, the governor’s mother, at the time of the attack.

Atsi was initially treated at the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Wukari before being flown to Abuja for further care, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
