Breakingng.com had earlier reported that Chief Ogbeh died on Saturday at the age of 78. He held several prominent positions during his decades-long career, including Minister of Communications during the Second Republic and Minister of Agriculture under President Muhammadu Buhari.

Tinubu in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, lauded Ogbeh as a man of exceptional intellect whose ideas shaped national policies and provided workable solutions to pressing challenges.

Beginning his political journey in the 1970s as a legislator, Ogbeh later became one of the founding members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Chief Audu Ogbeh was a patriot whose wisdom, dedication, and pursuit of progress left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s political landscape. He was always ready with facts and figures to back his propositions. The nation will sorely miss his insightful perspectives and wealth of experience,” Tinubu said.

Also, a former President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki in his tribute described Ogbeh as a statesman defined by integrity and values.

In a message shared on his social media handle, Saraki reflected on Ogbeh’s distinguished service as a former Minister of Agriculture and PDP National Chairman, calling him one of the nation’s truly rare public figures.

According to Saraki, a former Governor of Kwara State Ogbeh’s death represents a significant loss to the country’s reservoir of wisdom and moral guidance.

His words: “Chief Audu Ogbeh, former Chairman of the PDP and Minister of Agriculture, was one of the rare public figures whose words carried the weight of integrity.

“In his work and my encounters with him, I saw a man deeply rooted in good values and genuinely concerned for the interests of the people he served. Our nation has lost a voice of reason and a heart of service,” Saraki said.

The former Senate President also offered condolences to the bereaved family, praying for strength and comfort for them in this period of mourning.

“I extend my condolences to his wife, children, the entire Ogbeh family, and all who mourn his passing.

“May the Almighty grant them the strength and fortitude to bear this great and irreparable loss,” Saraki added.
