President Bola Tinubu has submitted a proposed budget of ₦1.48 trillion for Rivers State to the National Assembly for review and approval.
The move follows the Supreme Court’s decision to nullify the state’s 2025 budget, coupled with the current imposition of emergency rule in the state, prompting the need for federal intervention.

According to the President, the budget earmarks ₦324 billion for infrastructure development, ₦166 billion for healthcare, ₦75.6 billion for the education sector, and ₦31.4 billion for agricultural initiatives.
He also noted that the agricultural component of the proposal is projected to create approximately 6,000 new jobs.
Tinubu urged lawmakers to give the proposal swift consideration in the interest of stabilizing and supporting the people of Rivers State.
