Truck collides again on Abuja road

Date:

Barely 24 hours after a CNG-laden tanker crashed near Karu Bridge, a fertiliser-laden truck has toppled at the same spot along the Abuja-Keffi Expressway.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:54 PM on Thursday.

Nkechi Isa, Head of Public Affairs at the FCT Emergency Management Department, confirmed the accident, revealing that the truck collided with a Hijet and a dump truck. Fortunately, no lives were lost in the incident.

Isa urged motorists to exercise caution on the busy route as the Federal Road Safety Corps works to clear the affected vehicles and prevent further traffic congestion.

“Our search and rescue teams confirmed that a fertiliser-laden truck collided with a Hijet and a tipper. Thankfully, there were no fatalities.

“We advise drivers to remain cautious as efforts are underway to tow the vehicles and reduce traffic buildup,” the statement noted.

In the meantime, several videos circulating online showed people attempting to clear fertiliser bags from the fallen truck to help ease the growing traffic jam.
