Trump appoints Susie Wiles as first female Chief of Staff

Date:

Donald Trump has appointed his senior campaign adviser, Susie Wiles, as the new White House chief of staff, making her the first woman in U.S. history to hold this role

“Susie is tough, smart, and innovative, admired and respected by all,” Trump said in a statement. “This is a well-deserved honor, and I have no doubt she will make our country proud as the first-ever female chief of staff.”

Wiles, 67, brings decades of political experience, including work in the Reagan administration. She has played a significant role in helping elect prominent Republicans such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Senator Rick Scott.

Reflecting on her contributions, Trump noted, “Susie likes to stay in the background. We call her ‘the ice baby’ because of her calm under pressure.”
