The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended two primary suspects in the recent death of 16 travelers in Uromi, Esan North-East local government area of Edo State.
Friday Ituah, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, announced the news in a statement on Tuesday.
Ituah, who said the suspects were apprehended in Uromi town based on solid intelligence, further stated that operatives from various security agencies were looking for other important suspects in the terrible occurrence.
According to him, the accused individuals have been taken to Abuja for further investigation and prosecution by the appropriate authorities.
It will be recalled that the state governor, Monday Okpebholo, on Monday paid a condolence visit to Kano State.
The governor, who revealed that 14 suspects had already been arrested in connection with the killing and were to be moved to Abuja for further interrogation, vowed that justice would be served and those involved in the killing would be brought to justice.
He also assured the families of the victims that adequate compensations would be paid.
