Former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has been released from the Kuje Minimum Custodial Centre in Abuja after meeting bail conditions.
Justice Maryanne Anenih of the Federal Capital Territory High Court on Thursday granted bail to Bello in the sum of N500 million, with three sureties in like amount.
Spokesperson for the FCT Command of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Adamu Duza, confirmed the ex-governor’s release.
“He (Yahaya Bello) has been released after meeting the bail conditions. He was released this (Friday) evening,” Duza stated.
He added that the Controller of NCoS FCT, Ajibogun Olatubosun, was present to ensure Bello’s smooth release and that all necessary protocols were duly observed.
