Representing the Rano/Bunkure/Kibiya and Karaye/Rogo Federal Constituencies of Kano State, the lawmakers cited “the internal crisis rocking the NNPP” as the reason for their departure from the party.

In a related move, Oluwole Oke, the representative for Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in Osun State, also declared his defection to the APC during the same plenary.
The APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, was present at the session to lend his support to the defecting lawmakers.
