Fayemi declares support for Gov Oyebanji ahead of Ekiti guber poll

Date:

Ex-Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has announced his support for Governor Oyebanji’s bid for a second term.

Fayemi declared his support during the All Progressives Congress end-of-year gathering held at his Isan Ekiti country home on Thursday, December 26.

The former Governor added that the date for the 2026 Ekiti Gubernatorial Poll would be disclosed in April 2025, challenging anyone interested in contesting against the incumbent governor to step forward.

Fayemi said: “I’m a democrat, so I can’t discourage anyone from contesting for the governorship ticket. Anybody who feels capable can contest.

“But what I’m saying is that as for me and my family, we are for Oyebanji’s second term.”
