APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has slammed allegations linking him to a fresh scheme to dethrone the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, labeling the claims as baseless and absurd.
The rumor, which spread like wildfire on social media, suggested that Ganduje was behind renewed efforts to unseat the monarch, a move reminiscent of his actions as governor when Sanusi was controversially removed.
However, Ganduje swiftly cleared the air, stating he has no involvement in the current affairs of the Kano Emirate.
In a sharp rebuttal issued through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment, Ganduje said, “The idea that I’m behind any plot to dethrone Emir Sanusi is laughable. I’m no longer the governor or speaker of the House of Assembly.”
He firmly emphasized that his primary focus is on leading the APC and dismissed the accusations as distractions.
“It’s almost comical that people would accuse me of orchestrating another plot to remove or install an Emir years after leaving office,” Ganduje quipped.
He also hinted that those fueling the rumors have a hidden agenda, aiming to stir discord between him and the presidency.
“Whoever is behind this is clearly trying to drive a wedge between me and President Bola Tinubu, but let it be known that our relationship remains rock solid,” Ganduje concluded.
