The Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on former governor and 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to return to the party, describing it as his “political home.”
The appeal came on Thursday following an enlarged meeting of the State Executive Committee (SEC) in Awka, where party leaders reviewed the state of the PDP in Anambra and discussed strategies for revitalization.
In a communiqué signed by the State Chairman, Chidi Chidebe, the party noted that alliances with parties lacking ideological compatibility have proven ineffective and may not deliver meaningful political outcomes.

“The committee extends an open invitation to all former and aggrieved members of the PDP in Anambra, especially our respected former governor, Mr. Peter Obi, to come back home and join the now revitalized and restructured PDP,” Chidebe said.
“We are ready to work together in our shared vision for a better Nigeria.”
Chidebe also urged Anambra voters to rally behind the PDP’s candidates in the upcoming elections, Mr. Jude Ezenwafor and his running mate, Mr. Francis Okeke.
He called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a transparent and credible poll.
Additionally, the SEC announced the unanimous nomination of Chief Clems Ezike to fill the vacant position of National Ex-Officio representing Anambra State.
Chidebe appealed to the Southeast Zonal Executive Committee, led by Chief Ali Odefa, to formalize and forward the nomination to the PDP national secretariat.
