Peter Obi’s alleged PDP, ADC statements not from us – Media Office

Date:

The Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) has debunked recent reports suggesting that Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is involved in fresh political realignments.

A report that surfaced on Tuesday alleged that Obi had been offered the role of National Organising Secretary by the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Shortly after, another claim circulated online, suggesting that the former Anambra State governor had refuted plans to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

However, Ibrahim Umar, the spokesperson for POMR, clarified in a statement that none of these reports originated from Obi or his official media office.

“POMR has been made aware of two different statements claiming to come from our principal, Peter Obi, one of which denies his return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and reaffirms his commitment to the African Democratic Congress (ADC),” the statement reads.

“And another claiming that Obi has been offered the position of national organising secretary (NOS) in the ADC. Neither of the two purported statements originated from Obi or his media office.”

Umar emphasized that Obi has remained firm in his position regarding the ongoing political coalition efforts and warned against misrepresentation of his views.

“The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party has been a subject of speculation in the political space even as he has remained focused on his mission for the establishment of a new Nigeria of our dreams.

“Peter Obi has been unequivocal in his position in the ongoing coalition and does not need anyone to put words into his mouth,” he added.

He further stated that Obi remains committed to the vision of a better Nigeria and will not condone false statements aimed at pushing questionable agendas.

He urged the public to ignore any communications not officially released through Obi’s media team or verified platforms.
