Leaders and governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Nigeria’s south-south region have expressed their support for President Bola Tinubu to seek re-election in 2027.

Among those present were Adams Oshiomhole, senator representing Edo North; Abubakar Momoh, Minister of Niger Delta Development; Bassey Otu, Governor of Cross River; and Timipre Sylva, former Governor of Bayelsa.

Speakers at the meeting pointed to recent policy measures by the Tinubu administration, including a student loan scheme and tax exemptions for low-income earners, as reasons for their continued support.

Senator Monday Okpebholo acknowledged the presence of his colleagues, calling the gathering a sign of unity. He reiterated a pledge to secure 2.5 million votes for Tinubu in Edo State during the next general election.

He referenced ongoing road projects in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area as part of his rationale.
