Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has expressed no disappointment following the club’s 3-0 loss to Chelsea in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final on Sunday in New Jersey.
The French champions were hoping to cap off a historic season with a fifth title but fell short against the Premier League side, who delivered a clinical performance to claim the global crown.

Despite the heavy defeat, Al-Khelaifi remained upbeat, highlighting the club’s remarkable accomplishments throughout the campaign.
“Congratulations to Chelsea. They deserved their victory. We can be very proud of what we did this season. We wanted to win this Club World Cup, but it’s difficult,” Al-Khelaifi told the club’s official website.
“The players gave their all. They were tired. We had a great season, the best in the club’s history. We’re proud of the players and the staff. This defeat is good for us, for next season. We have to be humble. We’re the youngest team in the competition.”
“It’s time for vacation; the players will be able to rest. We’re very proud of this season; it’s magnificent. It’s true that we lost a final, but I’m proud of the team,” he added.
PSG were aiming to complete a clean sweep of silverware after already lifting the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Trophée des Champions titles earlier in the season. The Club World Cup was the only missing piece in what has been the most successful campaign in the club’s history.
Although the loss denied the Parisians a historic quintuple, the tone from the club’s leadership suggests confidence and optimism for the future—particularly with a youthful squad that has shown both resilience and promise on multiple fronts.
