The Moroccan side made a strong start, breaking the deadlock in the 12th minute through Ghizlane Chebbak.
They soon extended their lead when Sanaâ Mssoudy struck again in the 24th minute, putting Nigeria on the back foot early in the match.

But the tide shifted after the break, as Nigeria emerged a different side with a determined second-half display that breathed life into their WAFCON campaign.Esther Okoronkwo ignited the comeback with a composed penalty finish in the 64th minute.

Just seven minutes later, Folashade Florence Ijamilusi brought Nigeria level with a well-taken goal that sent the supporters into a frenzy.
The turnaround was completed in the 88th minute when Jennifer Echegini found the net with a late winner, securing a memorable victory for the nine-time African champions.
Statistically, the Super Falcons had the upper hand, recording 14 total shots compared to Morocco’s 10. Of Nigeria’s attempts, five were on target, and they enjoyed a slight edge in ball possession at 55%. They completed 280 passes with 69% accuracy and won five corners, while Morocco had three.
Despite the high tempo of the match, discipline remained intact on both sides, as no cards were shown. Nigeria committed seven fouls, while Morocco registered 12.
