Carlo Ancelotti reaches agreement to become Brazil head coach

Date:

Legendary Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti is set to take charge of the Brazilian national team after reaching an agreement in principle with the Seleção, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano revealed on Monday that Ancelotti and Brazil have finalized a deal for the veteran coach to lead the team into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The agreement is set to take effect from June, with Romano clarifying that it would not be delayed until after the FIFA Club World Cup, as previously speculated.

“Carlo Ancelotti and Brazil have reached an agreement in principle for the Italian to become Seleção head coach for the World Cup 2026,” Romano reported.

“Deal valid from June, NOT after Clubs World Cup.”Currently managing Real Madrid, Ancelotti’s time at the Spanish giants is expected to end amicably. According to Romano, “Real Madrid and Ancelotti would part ways nicely with formal steps needed next.”

Ancelotti, one of the most successful and respected figures in world football, would become the first foreign coach to lead Brazil since 1965.

His appointment signals Brazil’s intent to rebuild and reclaim global dominance following a disappointing 2022 World Cup campaign.

Further official confirmation from both Real Madrid and the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is anticipated in the coming weeks as formalities are finalized.
