A tragic incident occurred during the UEFA Nations League final between Portugal and Spain in Munich on Sunday, as a spectator lost their life after falling from the stands.
The fall happened during the first half of extra time, when the fan plummeted from the middle tier into the press area located in the lower section of the stadium.

Emergency medical personnel and police officers responded swiftly to the scene in an attempt to assist the individual. UEFA later confirmed the fatality in a statement provided to SID, a subsidiary of AFP, describing the situation as a “medical emergency.”
Following the dramatic match, which ended in a 2-2 draw and saw Portugal emerge victorious in the penalty shootout 5-3, officials from both national teams extended their condolences.
Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente addressed the tragedy during his post-match press conference, stating: “I want to show my deepest condolences because a fan has died. It reminds us, of what is important in life.
“A member of the Portuguese delegation also shared sympathies, noting that the incident “casts a shadow on our victory today.” Portugal’s head coach Roberto Martinez echoed the sentiment, calling it “extremely sad news.”
According to reports, the supporter fell from a height of approximately eight metres. Authorities have yet to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fall.
