Man United seal £70m deal for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo

Date:

Manchester United have finalized a £70 million deal to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, securing one of their top attacking targets ahead of the new Premier League season – 2025/26.

According to reports from The Athletic, Brentford have given the green light for the transfer after both clubs reached an agreement on the overall package.

The deal includes performance-related add-ons and is seen as a major coup for United as they continue to bolster their frontline.

Sources confirm that personal terms had already been agreed weeks ago, with Mbeumo keen on making the switch to Old Trafford. The Cameroonian international had made it clear that his preference was to join Manchester United, effectively shutting down interest from other clubs.

The 24-year-old forward is set to become United’s second major signing of the summer following the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

With Ruben Amorim aiming to strengthen his squad’s attacking depth, Mbeumo’s versatility and Premier League experience make him a valuable addition.

Mbeumo enjoyed an impressive campaign with Brentford last season, scoring 9 goals and providing 6 assists in 28 appearances before an ankle injury cut his season short.

His move to United marks a significant step up and a reward for his consistent performances in the English top flight since Brentford’s promotion.

The transfer is expected to be officially announced in the coming days after the completion of formalities, including medicals.
