Despite facing an injury crisis that left coach Carlo Ancelotti with only one senior player available on the bench, Madrid dominated the match in nearly every statistical category, except for the most crucial one for much of the game.

The home side unleashed a staggering 39 shots and earned 26 corners, boasting an expected goal tally of 2.56, significantly higher than Mallorca’s meager 0.49.
However, it was the visitors who struck first, with Valjent curling a stunning shot past goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois from inside the box after their only first-half attempt.
Mallorca’s goalkeeper, Roman, was in exceptional form, making five outstanding saves in the first half to keep his team in the lead.
However, the tide turned in the 68th minute when Kylian Mbappé, marking his impressive debut season, scored his 40th goal by firing a low shot past Roman, leveling the match and pulling ahead of Robert Lewandowski in the race for the Pichichi trophy.
As the game neared its conclusion, it was Ramon who emerged as the unlikely hero for Real Madrid, netting his first goal for the club with almost the final kick of the match.
This late strike not only secured the victory but also delayed Barcelona’s celebrations in the title race.
