South Africa’s senior men’s national football team, Bafana Bafana, will welcome Nigeria’s Super Eagles for a pivotal 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash scheduled for September 9.
The match will take place at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.

According to a statement by Ademola Olajire, the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) Head of Communications, the fixture is set to kick off at 4 p.m. GMT — corresponding to 5 p.m. in Nigeria and 6 p.m. local time in South Africa.
The stadium, which originally bore the name Vodacom Park and was later renamed Free State Stadium, was inaugurated in 1995.
Situated in South Africa’s judicial capital, the arena can host up to 46,000 fans.
The tie represents Matchday 8 in Group C of Africa’s qualifying series and is anticipated to play a decisive role in determining the sole team from the group that will advance to the global tournament.
This high-stakes encounter comes just three days after Nigeria hosts Rwanda’s Amavubi in another qualifier on September 6.
