Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, has shared her thoughts on love, relationships, and her career in Nollywood. She described herself as a “lover girl” who loves intensely and goes the extra mile for her partner.
Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, Akindele described her ideal partner as someone who pampers her, checks in on her genuinely, and is intelligent.
She said “I am a lover girl and I love seriously. I am also a bit of an extremist who goes the extra mile. For instance, I can wake up tomorrow and buy my spouse a car.
“The green light for me is someone who pampers me and checks on me genuinely. I love a real and positive guy. I also love intelligent men.”
She also reflected on her personal journey, admitting there was a time when she almost gave up on love. However, she advised others not to give up, instead taking a step back and let love find them.
In addition to her thoughts on love, Akindele defended the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, against critics who claim it’s losing its quality storytelling.
She emphasized the importance of creative freedom and the ability to tell stories from different angles.
The “Everybody Loves Jenifa” star attributed her success in the industry to consistency, understanding her audience, and telling relatable stories.
She stressed the importance of hard work and dedication to achieving outstanding success in the industry.
